Student Advisory Board (SAB)

Decatur Education Foundation is excited to invite Decatur High School students to apply for a position on our brand new Student Advisory Board for the 2026-2027 school year!

OVERVIEW

The SAB's purpose is to help DEF determine the most needed programming for City Schools of Decatur students. We are working to ensure that our programming is informed by those who actually use it.  

REQUIREMENTS

Any Decatur High School student who is committed to improving the lives of their peers is eligible to apply for the SAB. There is no GPA requirement, just a willingness to show up and engage. Successful applications must demonstrate a commitment to participating in the work that helps shape DEF programs that support Decatur's youth.   

GET PAID

Get paid for your perspective and work!  Active members will receive a $500 stipend at the end of the school year if attendance requirements are met. 

TIMELINE

🔸  Application Deadline — August 14

🔸  Interviews - August 24, 25, 26, 3:30-5:30 pm

🔸  Members Announced — September 1st

🔸  First Meeting — September 16, 4-6 pm, DHS (TBD)
