DEF helps families prepare for the start of school

In early July, the Decatur Education Foundation team, along with our dedicated volunteers, stuffed 700 backpacks with school supplies in preparation for CSD’s Back 2 School Bash!

Students were excited to receive their stuffed backpacks at the July 16 event, and they especially enjoyed personalizing them at DEF’s decorating station!

We’re so grateful for our volunteers who stuffed and distributed backpacks with us! Thank you to ALL of our community members who contributed to DEF’s school supply drive! A special thank-you to Decatur First United Methodist Church for their generous donation, and to Jenna Black for the generous donation to honor her father’s birthday!

Decatur Education Foundation is committed to making sure ALL of our kids have what they need to show up to school ready to learn, and we couldn’t do it without this generous community!
